Session description:
We will explore the key benefits of teaching outdoors to scaffold and develop executive functioning skills.
The session will include a presentation about the importance of developing a young person’s executive functioning skills in school and at home in preparation for adulthood and a successful education. A link to pupils with special educational needs and some additional barriers that impact on a young person’s executive functioning skills or vice versa. This will be followed by a discussion around how teaching outdoors can support this development, followed by questions.
