Curriculum Rescue Sessions

Sometimes a little support and guidance along with a few really good ideas can help to inspire teachers with planning a whole curriculum area, such as Maths, English or Science, or a particular cross-curricular topic, such as ‘the Anglo-Saxons’ or ‘the the Great Fire of London’.

Jo is an experienced primary teacher who understands the challenges of planning, teaching and assessing lesson activities in the classroom. As an experienced Teach Outdoors teacher she can help with practical solutions and ideas to enhance that learning by taking the learning outdoors, whether it is to understand a particular maths concept, to create an exciting and inspiring stimulus for writing or to bring alive the many and varied topics from the school day.

Sessions can be flexible depending on the school’s needs and could be for a few hours or a whole day. The sessions can focus on a specific group of children, a whole class or several classes rotating throughout the day. Please contact Jo to discuss your requirements.

Almost any subjects can be enriched by integrating outdoor learning into the curriculum and sometimes it is getting started that can be the hardest part. To give you a head start you can download a series of Maths and English lessons which include progressive skills activities from key stage one to key stage two for letter writing and geometry.

If you would like a more in-depth whole school approach to outdoor learning then why not consider becoming a Teach Outdoors School?
